Roberta "Bobbie" Weichman, a one-of-a-kind soul who brought warmth and laughter to every room, passed away surrounded by love and family.Bobbie met her first husband, Paul C. Vail, while waitressing in Chicago. Together, they built a life in Elmhurst starting around 1960, raising their sons Paul, John, Bill, and Tommy, alongside stepson Dan Klein. Their home was filled with love, energy, and joy until Paul's passing in 1977.Bobbie later found love again, marrying Gene Babb and eventually Richard Weichman, all the while nurturing her deep connection to family and community. She worked for 10 years in the restaurant at the old Elmhurst Hospital during the late 1980s and early 1990s, where she made many friends and was beloved by colleagues and visitors alike. A dedicated Avon representative from the late 1990s through 2015, Bobbie brought her charm and warmth to countless customers and thrived in her role.She was often found at church or sharing stories and laughs at the Rainbow Restaurant, always bringing a bubbly and lively presence. A devoted Cubs fan and country music enthusiast, Bobbie embraced lifes simple pleasures, pouring her heart into making memories with her loved ones. Loud and effervescent, her zest for life was matched only by her empathy and generosity, making her the glue that held her family together. She hosted cherished holiday celebrations filled with love, laughter, and the deep warmth of her cooking and presence.Bobbie is survived by her loving sons: John Vail, Bill Vail, Tommy (Julie) Vail, Dan (Georgette) Klein and Rhett Klein. She was the proud grandmother of Charley (Margaret) Vail, Cassie (Michael) Vail, and Adam Vena, and the cherished great-grandmother of Luna Bella Dimauga, Brianna, Lindsay, and Gia Vena.Bobbie was predeceased by her husbands Paul C. Vail (1977), Gene Babb (2002), and Richard Weichman (2014), as well as her son Paul D. Vail and her daughter-in-law Linda Vail.Bobbies family was her greatest joy, and her love will continue to shine in the hearts of her children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and all who knew her. May her spirit remain a reminder to live with kindness, generosity, and unshakable love for family and friends.
