I miss you so much, Dad! On the morning of my birthday, I expected you to call me saying, "Di me, da you?" After a minute or two, I realized that I would never get that call again. It crushed me. I am comforted in knowing you are always with me, both in spirit as well as in the two keepsake urns necklaces I wear around my neck every day.

I just came across this page in Legacy, with tremendous sadness, yes, "Pop" was one of a kind... very kindhearted soul who really loved his family circle and close friends... He was a man of God... He and his son bobby gave me a place at their home for a season back in 2006... He and his family had always made me an important piece in the family circle... He had accepted me as I am without judging me of my past... I would never forget the love, kindness, and the memories he had shared with me... we had many talks over the Scriptures and other subjects... he was well verse in all areas... I am glad he had met my youngest son, Bryce, when he came out for a visit back in 2008... He welcomed him as well into the circle... For he lived well and was loved by many...
We'll meet again, Pop, in a glorious place...
My heartfelt condolences to the rest of the family... May you all cherish the memories you all have been blessed with him, as a father, as a grandfather, great grandfather, mentor, friend, and brother... R.I.P

Oh yes, I´m going to go there! I can see him shaking his fist at me and giving me the evil eye!
When we were traveling from Phoenix to Sumter, South Carolina, one of the tires on the station wagon we were hauling caught on fire. Dad got out because a truck driver waved him down to stop. He had a fire extinguisher and he helped put out the fire. As dad was walking back to the car, a cattle truck was approaching. Dad sped up his walk, but just as he reached for the handle, Bobby locked the doors. Dad was banging on the window, holding his neck like he was choking, and acting like he was passing out. We were all laughing inside the car! When the coast was clear, my mom unlocked the doors. As he got in the car, mom asked, "Hey honey, did you have a good time with your friends?" Dad shook his fist at us all and said, "Oh, shut up!" Then we all laughed; even Dad!

I loved talking about air planes and aerospace education with Papa. He was so proud that I asked him to help me study for the state aerospace education test. I didn´t get first place, but third place was still an honor to receive! Thank you Papa!

Daddy you were m first love, my protector, and my hero! You were the truest example of God´s unconditional love for me. I would not be who I am today had it not been for you and mom. I miss our dances, our silliness, and our cooking together. You were the greatest "Papa" to Lane, his best buddy, He mocked every move you made. Life will not be the same without you and I will miss you for the rest of my days.Thank you Daddy for being the greatest man I have ever known and I am so blessed to have been your daughter. Loving you always!

Daddy, you were my first love, you have been my hero, and my protector! I miss dancing with you and being silly while we did. I loved watching your interactions with Lane and how he would copy everything you did. You were his best buddy ever! You were a true example of Gods unconditional love. You and Mom are why I am who I am today! I love you with all that I am and will miss you for the rest of my days. Life will not be the same without you but I am forever blessed to have had you in my life and even more blessed to have been able to be your daughter.Loving you always and God bless you my sweet Daddy!
