In Loving Memory of Roberto "Beto" Martinez Reyes

Roberto "Beto" Martinez Reyes of Grandview passed away unexpectedly at his home on December 11th at the age of 55.

Roberto was born on January 29, 1970, in Riverside, California, to Guadalupe Esparza Reyes and Maria Guadalupe Reyes.

He is survived by his wife, Nora Urrutia; his three children, Rachel Jimenez, Roberto Reyes Jr., and Marissa Reyes; his sons-in-law and daughter-in-law; and his six granddaughters, Jazelle, Jazlene, Maylene, Maricruz, Makayla, and Briella. He is also survived by his sister, Maria (Garrett) Reyes-Goettsch, along with many nieces, nephews, uncles, aunts, and cousins.

Roberto "Beto" Reyes was born into a life deeply rooted in family, resilience, and love. As a child, Roberto and his siblings traveled with their parents to work in the fields. What others may have viewed as hardship, they later remembered fondly--those journeys felt like family vacations, filled with long drives, shared moments, laughter, and the comfort of being together wherever the road led them.

Those early years shaped Roberto's strong work ethic and deep appreciation for family. From a young age, he learned that love is shown through presence, perseverance, and loyalty--lessons that stayed with him throughout his life.

As an adult, Roberto carried those values into his profession as a semi-truck driver. The open road became part of who he was, a continuation of the journeys that began in childhood. Driving was more than a job; it was a way of life, a means of providing, and a reflection of his steady, determined spirit.

Roberto was a son, brother, husband, father, father-in-law, grandfather, uncle, cousin, and friend--a man whose heart was often quiet but deeply caring. Though life brought its share of challenges, he faced them with strength and dignity.

He will be remembered for his resilience, his kindness, and the unwavering love he held for his family. While our hearts ache in his absence, we are grateful for every memory shared with him.

Roberto "Beto" Reyes is deeply loved, forever missed, and will always remain part of our journey. Rest peacefully until we meet again.

Services will be held on Friday, December 19th, from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. with a service beginning at 5:00 p.m. ~ Brookside Funeral Home (500 W. Prospect Rd. Moxee, WA).

Brookside Funeral Home & Crematory is caring for the family. Memories and condolences may be shared at brooksidefuneral.com.
