Robin Clem Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Cremation Services of East Alabama, Inc. - Anniston on Feb. 25, 2026.
Robin "Rob" Eugene Clem affectionately known as "Captain Deadeye"

Robin "Rob" Eugene Clem was born on August 31, 1959, in Tyler, Texas, and passed away on February 15, 2026, at the age of 66. He was a devoted husband, loving father, cherished son, brother, and friend, whose presence filled every room with warmth, laughter, and strength.

Rob is survived by his beloved wife Lisa and his children Rebecca, Tamara, Nick, and Chase, 3 grandchildren, and one on the way, his mother, Glenda Clem, his brother Tracy Clem, his sister-in-law Mona, and his brother, Stephen Clem.

He was preceded in death by his father, Shirley Clem, and his brother, Lynn Clem. Rob loved his whole family with every inch of his being. His devotion to them was unwavering, and his pride in each of them knew no bounds.

A man of remarkable character and discipline, Rob possessed an extraordinary work ethic, one he often credited to the example set by his father. He believed in giving nothing less than 150 percent and took great pride in a job well done. As a superintendent with NNI Construction, Rob found genuine fulfillment in his work, always striving to exceed expectations and valuing integrity, commitment, and hard-earned accomplishment.

Music was one of Rob's greatest passions and a lifelong companion. A drummer for over 40 years, he played across a wide range of genres, including country, funk, southern rock, blues, pop, bluegrass, gospel, and even classic 1950's music. A deeply intuitive musician, Rob had a rare ear for harmony and rhythm, able to hear and lock into complex jazz harmonies such as ninths, tenths, and thirteenths-an ability that set him apart and elevated every group he played with.

One of the highlights of his musical journey included performing for the Dallas Cowboys and playing the halftime show of Super Bowl XII in New Orleans in 1978. Rob's love for music was as broad as it was deep, embracing artists such as Dean Martin, Bing Crosby, Hank Williams Jr., Midland, Daryle Singletary, and Led Zeppelin. It was through music that he met the love of his life, Lisa, and later in life they shared the joy of playing together in church bands, uniting their faith and talents. Just as meaningful to Rob was passing on his love of music-his sense of harmony, rhythm, and drumming-to his daughter Rebecca, whose own musical talent was profoundly shaped and inspired by her father. He was a superb dancer, loved the 3 step, and to get out there and cut a rug.

Rob also had a deep love for sports, especially his beloved Dallas Stars hockey team. A tight end in high school, he carried his athletic spirit into fatherhood, always willing to throw a ball, wrestle on the floor, or jump into the pool-no matter how tired he was. He delighted in children and never hesitated to join them in body surfing, hunting, shooting, swimming, chicken fights in the pool, or playing basketball. Hunting, particularly in East Texas, was another treasured pastime that brought him peace and joy. He loved being in nature, surrounded by God's creation.

In later years, Rob found great happiness among his pirate brethren. He took immense pleasure in crafting costumes, singing songs, and fully embracing the spirit of the Renaissance fairs. As a proud member of The Leviathans, he formed deep friendships and unforgettable memories at the Texas Renaissance Festival and the Louisiana Renaissance Festival. These experiences were made all the more meaningful when shared with his wife, Lisa, his daughter Rebecca, and any family member or friend eager to join the adventure.

Above all else, Rob valued his relationship with the Lord, his devotion to his family, and his love for this country. A true patriot and lover of history, he found his greatest joy at home-laughing with those he loved, engaging in thoughtful discussions about the world, faith, and life itself. He worked tirelessly to ensure his family was grounded in strong values, faith, and love.

Rob's legacy is one of unwavering devotion, joyful living, and steadfast faith. He will be missed beyond measure, and his love, laughter, and spirit will live on in the hearts of all who were blessed to know him.

Rather than sending flowers or plants, the family would be sincerely grateful for a monetary gift. Your thoughtful support is deeply appreciated and will serve as a meaningful tribute to a life so dearly cherished.
