Bryant Murphy, 86, of
Eastaboga, Alabama, passed peacefully surrounded by his children on February 21, 2026. Born December 13, 1939, in Randolph County, Alabama, Bryant grew up there and carried his love for that community and way of life with him throughout his years.
Bryant was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Jennifer Murphy; his son, Brett Murphy; his parents, Joseph and Lilar Murphy; and several siblings. No doubt there was a joyful reunion in Heaven as he was welcomed home.
He is survived by his children: Greg Murphy (Delissa), Gary Murphy (Traci), Chris Murphy, and Samantha Hill (Skyler).
His legacy continues through his cherished grandchildren: Kasey Lathem (Justin), Coty Murphy (Taylor), Dusty Murphy (Haley), Jordan Murphy (Heather), AnnaLee Duke (Caleb), Reed Murphy (Maddie), Merissa Hill, Rhyatt Hill, and Murphy Rhett Hill.
He was also blessed with great-grandchildren: Aubrey Strickland (Cameron), Kastin Lathem, John Luke Lathem, Arrow Murphy, Bow Murphy, Carter Duke, Harrison Duke, Brooks Murphy, and Millie Beth Murphy.
Bryant is also survived by his sisters, Anne Bagley (Don) and Carolyn McWhorter (Pete), along with many extended family members and friends who will cherish his memory.
Bryant worked faithfully for Tyson Foods, providing for his family with dedication and integrity. Outside of work, he was an avid coon hunter and took great pride in raising and training hunting dogs, especially Kemmer Mountain Cur and Ladner Blackmouth Cur dogs. Many knew that if Bryant was happiest anywhere outside his home, it was in the woods, under the night sky, listening for the sound of a good dog on a trail.
In his later years, his health limited his ability to get out and do many of the things he loved. Even so, his spirit remained strong. He continued to live through his children and grandchildren - listening to their stories, celebrating their accomplishments, and taking pride in the lives they built. Their joys became his joys, and their time with him meant more than words could say.
Above all, Bryant loved spending time with his family - especially his children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. He treasured every gathering, every story told, and every moment shared. He also found deep joy in listening to gospel music, a reflection of the faith that quietly guided his life.
Bryant's life was one of hard work, loyalty, and love. His steady presence, wisdom, and strong example will live on in the generations that follow him.
A service to celebrate his life will be held Saturday, March 7, 2026, at 1:30 p.m. at Jordan Chapel Church, 1592 County Road 47, Woodland, Alabama 36280.
"Well done, good and faithful servant." - Matthew 25:23
