Robin Babb Dunlap, 60, of Cabot, Arkansas, passed away on March 13, 2025 surrounded by loved ones. She was born October 30, 1964 to Michael "Mickey" Babb and Kathyrn Babb in West Memphis, Arkansas. Robin was preceded in death by her father, Mickey Babb, and infant son, Carl Brandon Turner.
Robin was a 1984 graduate of Tuckerman High School, where she determined her freshman year that her dream job was to become a teacher. In 1992 she graduated from Arkansas State University with her Bachelor of Science in Education and went on to teach in several school districts including Jackson County and Springdale as a Special Education teacher. In 2002, she began working in the Pulaski County Special School District at Oakbrooke Elementary. In 2017 she moved to Sylvan Hills High School to become their Community Based Instruction teacher. Of all the teaching opportunities that Robin had, this was her favorite. As a mother of a special needs child, Robin had a unique perspective as a parent and educator. She knew the importance of being an advocate for all of her students. She did not place limits on their abilities and was always one of their biggest cheerleaders. Robin did such a wonderful job in her role at Sylvan Hills that she won Teacher of the Year her first year there for 2017/2018 and again for the 2023/2024 school year.
When Robin was not at school teaching and with her students, you could find her spending time with her family, working with her plants, in her garden, or cooking. Robin was a fabulous cook and there was no event that she showed up to without plenty of homecooked food and love. On any given Saturday night, you could find her at Ward Country Dance watching her beloved son, Adam, sing his heart out. Over the years, Robin adored her role as Nanny to her grandchildren, making sure to never miss a holiday, birthday party, or life event.
Robin is survived by her husband of 22 years, Darrell Dunlap; son, Adam Turner; step-children, Courtney (Tim) Higginbotham and Will (Whitney) Dunlap; grandchildren, Peyton, Aida, Pressley, Landry, and Todd; mother, Kathryn Babb; siblings, Terry (Emily) Babb and PJ (Debi) Babb; as well as a host of nieces, nephews, and extended family.
A memorial service will be held Saturday, April 5 at First Baptist Church, 401 N. 1st Street, Jacksonville, AR 72076. Visitation will be at 10 AM with the memorial service to begin at 11 AM

Robin was such an amazing woman. She was my son, Caleb´s elementary teacher and his high school teacher. She was one of his biggest cheerleaders and he would not be where he is today if it was not for her love, support and encouragement. My son and I love her so much and I will forever be grateful. Sending love and prayers to the family.

Robin was an inspiration to me at Oakbrooke Elementary. She loved and supported every one of her kids and had endless energy teaching them life skills. Never heard a cross word, but calmly turned difficult situations into a learning experience. Her students were happy! Robin was very supportive of reading and allowing her students to experience all their interests in literature from the library. I loved her class! She shared Adam with us and he was delightful! Robin supported Adam through his involvement at the Ward country singing. I loved watching his videos she shared. She will be sorely missed!

Robin was more than a friend, she was truly a sister to me. An incredible educator and advocate for special education. She took her love for Adam and spilled it onto children who needed a teacher to help them learn. We shared recipes, a love for new food, and hairstyles. We have all lost a gem. Rest easy sweet friend, I know you´re moving and grooving again.

Oh what memories of our times together at Dunlap family get togethers.I remember meeting Adam the first time and he was quite the charmer. Please pray for Adam as well as the rest of the family. Robin was an awesome woman with so much love to share with everyone she met, always a smile, and a strong Christian faith for all to hear. She will be missed but her forgotten. We were fortunate to have her in our family.
