OBITUARY ROBIN GRIFFIN
Robin Marcella Thompson Griffin of Verona, PA, was the youngest of two children, the eldest is Lamont Thompson, born to the late June Ray Thompson and Lawrence (Jerry) Thompson on August 15, 1962. She came into this world prematurely which is how she came to be affectionately known as "Tiny" by her family. She departed this life suddenly and peacefully, Sunday, September 22, 2024.
Tiny spent her early years on Grove Place, Pittsburgh, PA and her formative years in New Homestead, PA. She was educated in the Pittsburgh Public School System and graduated from Taylor Allderdice High school in 1981. After graduating, she obtained a degree in dental hygiene, but she was called to be a nursing assistant which became her career for over 30 years.
In 1989, Robin met the love of her life, Keith Griffin Sr., who preceded her in death. They were inseparable from the very first day that they met. They married on September 26, 1992, in a beautiful fairytale wedding ceremony. She told us they had a love that transcended time. She became an instant step-mom to Keith's 3 sons, Keith Jr., Jerome, and Irving (Pooh). She still longed and dreamed to be a mother of girls so in 1999 she became a mother to her first daughter Brianna Michelle Naejae. She doted on her daughter and dressed her like a beautiful princess. During that time, she also fostered her 2 identical twin great nephews, Lajuane and Jermon for 12 years. In 2002, she had her second daughter Ki-ara Nicole (Peaches). Nothing gave her greater joy than being a wife and a mother. She had strong family ties with her brother Lamont and enjoyed time spent with her nieces Ashley, Tamara, Deanna, and Charlotte as well as cherishing the daily prayers she shared with her sister-in-love Gail.
Robin leaves to morn her loss, daughters Brianna and Kiara Griffin; stepsons Keith Jr., Jerome, and Irvin Griffin; foster sons Lajuane and Jermon Pendelton; brother Lamont (Doris) Thompson; mother-in-law Bernice Malloy; sisters-in-law Gail (Rev. Craig) Whitehead, Carmen Harper, Pamela Harding; brothers-in-law Anthony Simon, Thomas Harding, and Timothy Harding; beloved nieces, aunts, cousins and friends who will cherish rich memories of Robin and will miss her dearly.
