In Loving Memory of Robin Evelyn Mort
November 19, 1957 – September 25, 2025
With deep sorrow and immense love, we share the passing of Robin Evelyn Mort, who left us
peacefully on September 25, 2025, at the age of 67. Robin's life was a remarkable journey-full
of laughter, beauty, boundless energy, and an insatiable curiosity for the world around her.
Robin was born in Los Angeles and raised in La Habra, California, where her childhood was
filled with imagination, adventure, and joy. A proud Girl Scout and devoted Barbie enthusiast,
she could often be found on the front porch, lost in play and surrounded by neighborhood
friends. In 1971, Robin moved to Northern California and became a freshman at Clayton Valley
High School, where she was a spirited cheerleader.
After high school, Robin attended Diablo Valley College and pursued a dream of launching her
own high-end children's clothing line. Her creative spirit took her to Seattle and then to
Colorado, where she worked in retail. But it was her first travel job in San Francisco, followed by
her move to Chicago and deeper into the world of travel, that truly shaped the course of her
extraordinary life.
For over 30 years, Robin served as the Lead Tour Director with Gohagan & Company, a role
that was not just a career but a calling. She guided journeys across the globe, from the
cobblestone streets of Europe to the serene landscapes of Asia and beyond. Robin didn't just
lead tours-she created experiences. With an unmatched talent for curating experiences and a
heart open to every culture, she made each traveler feel like family and every trip feel like a
once-in-a-lifetime adventure.
Her passport was stamped with awe: sunset dinners in Santorini, camel rides through Moroccan
markets, hikes through the Andes, and quiet reflections along the Seine. But it was never just
about the destinations. It was about the people she met, the friendships she nurtured, and the
memories she helped others make. Her friends around the world remember her not only for her
expert leadership, but for her kindness, compassion, and the magic she brought to every
journey.
Despite her global adventures, Robin was deeply devoted to her family and friends. She is
lovingly remembered by her mother, Doris Mort; her sister and brother-in-law, Sharon and
Gerald Oranje; her nieces and their husbands, Heather and Christopher Reece and Jennifer
and Stephen Petiti; and her treasured great-nieces and nephews: Colton, Everly, Caia, Judah,
and Jackson-each of whom lit up her world.
A celebration of Robin's extraordinary life will be held on October 9 at 1 pm at Oakmont
Memorial Park in
Lafayette, CA. All who knew her, traveled with her, or were touched by her
presence are welcome to attend and share in honoring her legacy. Though she may no longer
walk among us, her footprints circle the globe-and her legacy will live on in the hearts of all
who were lucky enough to know her
