Robin Lynn Rice, a beloved mother, grandmother, and sister, passed away peacefully on December 16, 2025, at the age of 56. Born on September 27, 1969, in Gaston County, North Carolina, Robin spent her life in Bessemer City, where she cherished every moment with her family and close friends.
Robin was a gifted artist, with a passion for drawing that she shared generously with those around her. She had a special knack for crocheting, creating beautiful pieces that brought warmth and comfort to her loved ones. Known for her strength and resilience, Robin faced life's challenges head-on, and her fierce love for her family was at the core of her being. She also loved to ride her motorcycle, always looking for adventure.
She leaves behind her devoted son, Michael Rice (Sabrina), and her loving daughter, Shena Welch (Gene). Robin was a proud grandmother to Payton, Alyssa, Samuel, Sophie, Micah and Malachi, and great-grandson Khylan Welch. She also held her sisters, Lorie Sprouse and Wanda Haney, close to her heart.
Robin was preceded in death by her parents, Harold and Freida Sprouse; great-grandson, Ryland Welch.
In honor of Robin's life and spirit, a visitation will be held at Midview Baptist Church on Saturday, December 20, 2025, from 1:00 pm to 2:00 pm, followed by a funeral service celebrating her remarkable journey starting at 2:00 pm. Friends and family are invited to gather and share memories of the incredible woman she was. Robin will be laid to rest at the church cemetery in a peaceful burial ceremony.
Robin Lynn Rice will be deeply missed but fondly remembered for all the love and laughter she brought into the lives of those she touched. In the words of her loved ones, "She was more than just family - she was our heart."
