Robin G. White, age 69, of DeKalb, IL passed away on Saturday, September 21, 2024 at Aperion Care in DeKalb, IL. She was born on February 15, 1955 in Sandwich, IL, the daughter of Robert and Gaila (Johnson) White, Jr. Robin grew up in Waterman, IL, graduating from Waterman High School.
Robin was employed for many years as a caregiver in healthcare. She was a loving daughter, sister, aunt, and friend who will be missed by all.
Robin, at age 35, was diagnosed with Schizophrenia. This would change her life significantly. She continued to enjoy her love of music: Elvis Presley, Barbra Streisand, The Rat Pack, Rock-n-Roll Oldies, and most recently Country, and Blues. She played the guitar for many years. Robin enjoyed her art of coloring and creating beaded necklaces and bracelets that she gave as gifts for many years. She was an avid reader of horror/thriller books. Her favorite author was V. C. Andrews. Robin also enjoyed playing cards and was sure to bring her quick wit and laughter to the table!
Robin is survived by her siblings; Cheryl "Cheri" (Gary) Kahle of St. Louis, MO, Daryl "Butch" (Lucinda Sanchez) White of Dana Point, CA, Wendi (Roger) Hintzsche of DeKalb, IL, and Edward White of DeKalb, IL, as well as several nieces and nephews.
Robin was preceded in death by her parents; Robert and Gaila (Johnson) White, Jr., grandparents; Robert and Pearl (Dolder) White, Sr., Russell and Edna (Olson) Johnson, and several aunts, uncles, and cousins.
Our beautiful sister, after enduring years of illness, now rests at peace. A Celebration of Life will be determined at a later date.
Our heartfelt thank you to the amazing staff and friends at Aperion Care, Northwestern Medicine Kishwaukee Hospital, Northern Illinois Hospice, Rochelle Gardens Care Center, the former Reality House (Ben Gordon Center), and the Golden Years Plaza (now Taylor Street Plaza).
