Robyn "Sulfstede" Benefield

Robyn (Sulfstede) Benefield, a cherished wife, daughter, sister, and friend, passed away peacefully in Mishawaka, IN, on September 20, 2025, at the age of 45. Born on April 3, 1980, in Baton Rouge, LA, Robyn grew up to be a vivacious spirit whose joy and love for life touched all who knew her.
After graduating from Vestavia Hills High School in 1998, she went on to pursue higher education at Auburn University, where she graduated in 2003 with a bachelor's degree in business administration. Her academic achievements were only surpassed by her ability to foster warm relationships and a caring community around her.
Robyn's love story began when she met the love of her life, John Benefield, in her family's clothing shop while John was shopping. A few days after that encounter they went on their first date. They married in a beautiful ceremony in Birmingham, AL, on May 19, 2007. Their partnership was built on mutual respect, laughter, and a shared love for their canine companions. Together, they built a life filled with happiness and fond memories.
She spent many years in Birmingham, AL, before moving to Osceola, IN, in 2021. No matter where she resided, Robyn carried with her an incredible ability to make any place feel like home. Her passion for cooking was evident in the delicious dishes she often shared with family and friends.
Robyn's love for animals, especially her beloved dogs, Sophia, Maggie, and June, knew no bounds. The passing of Maggie this January brought deep sadness, yet Robyn's heart remained filled with the love and joy her pets continuously brought into her life.
She leaves behind a heartbroken yet grateful family who will honor her memory every day: her devoted husband, John Benefield; her loving father, Robert Sulfstede; her caring mother, Cheryl (Henry) Sulfstede; and her adoring sister, Lauren (Chris) Dorough. Each of them played a significant role in her life and were the recipients of her boundless love and generosity.

A celebration of life will be held at a future date. Date and location will be published at a later date.
