Robyn Infelt Gaskill passed away peacefully on October 2, 2025.
Born in Beatrice, Nebraska, and raised in Idaho Falls Idaho, Robyn was the daughter of Vera and James F. Infelt. Her father was a respected civic leader who founded the Idaho Falls YMCA, serving as its executive director for 26 years and later represented his district in the Idaho State Legislature.
After earning her master’s degree in library science, Robyn settled in Seattle, Washington, where she worked with the Washington Talking Book & Braille Library, supporting readers who were blind or print-disabled. During this time, she reconnected with a former Idaho Falls High School classmate, Jay Ben Gaskill, at a reunion. The two later married and built much of their life together in the San Francisco Bay Area.
Robyn’s life reflected a life long love of libraries, learning, and community. She worked with the Alameda Public Library and maintained close ties to both the Bay Area and her native Idaho. Following Jay’s retirement, the couple returned to Idaho Falls, where Robyn reconnected with her childhood roots and the community she cherished.
Music was one of Robyn’s greatest joys. A devoted member of multiple church choirs in Seattle, Berkeley, CA, and Idaho Falls, she poured her heart into every performance. One of her proudest moments came when the Idaho Falls Choir traveled to New York City to perform at Carnegie Hall, an experience that embodied her deep love of music, faith, and fellowship.
Robyn was preceded in death by her husband of more than three decades, attorney, and writer, Jay Ben Gaskill (d. 2022). She is survived by her son, Nathan Foreman, and granddaughter, Madeline Foreman, as well as her stepchildren, Laura Gaskill, Gwen Dewar, and Daniel Gaskill.
She will be remembered for her warmth, intelligence, and deep compassion for those around her.
