Rochelle Jeanette Ullom Hendrix, 66, of Edenton, NC, passed away Sunday, February 9, 2025, in Sentara Albemarle Medical Center, Elizabeth City.
Mrs. Hendrix was born in Portsmouth, VA on March 15, 1958, and was the daughter of the late Charles Michael “Charlie” and Paticia Smith “Patty” Ullom. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a brother, William J. “Billy” Ullom. A graduate of Chowan College, she had been employed for many years as a Medical Transcriptionist. Memberships enjoyed included the Bethel Chapter 11 of Job’s Daughters International and had been active in Emmaus of the Albemarle. An avid animal lover, she especially loved horses and dogs.
Surviving is her husband of 17 years, Billy Joe Hendrix, Jr.; her daughter, Sarah H. Wolfgang (Jason) of Hertford; a stepson, Joseph Hendrix of Moyock; sister, Debbie Miller (Jeffery) of Edenton; and many nieces, nephews, and extended family members.
A memorial service will be held Wednesday at 2:00 p.m. in the chapel of Miller & Van Essendelft Funeral Home & Crematory, 735 Virginia Road, Edenton, and will be conducted by the Rev. Walter Byrum. The burial will be private at a later time. Friends are invited to visit with the family in the funeral home immediately following the service, or all other times at Sarah and Jason’s home, 219 Dogwood Drive, Hertford.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made either to Tri-County Animal Shelter, 138 Icaria Road, Tyner, NC 27980 or to the US Equine Rescue League, 1851 W. Erhinghaus St., Suite 146, Elizabeth City, NC 27909.
