Rock Mangus Obituary
Rock is survived by one brother, Luck (Leslie) Mangus, and one sister, Julie (Joe) Adams.
Rock was preceded in passing by his parents, Robert and Pearle Mangus, and one brother, Robert R. Mangus.
Rock enjoyed training and showing horses, photography, decorating, shopping for special deals, and helping people.
Early in Rock's career, he worked at Merillat Cabinets in Adrian, Michigan.
Around 30 years ago, Rock became a cancer survivor, and because of this experience, Rock realized a passion for helping other cancer patients. To help fulfill Rock's love & passion for helping people on a larger scale, he founded The Mission of Hope Cancer Fund in November of 1994, and this vital charitable organization is still operating today.
The Mission of Hope Cancer Fund is a remarkable organization, and throughout its history, the organization has helped cancer patients in 83 counties in Michigan by providing direct financial assistance to cancer patients and their families during their treatment and recovery: offering educational information for various types of cancer and offering emotional grief/support. Under the passion and direction of Rock Mangus, The Mission of Hope Cancer Fund has been helping people for over 30 years, and although the organization has a record of helping people in 83 counties, there are many people that the organization has helped or encouraged that are not recorded. Rock's passion for helping people was enormous.
In 2016, Rock also became involved with another charitable organization in Jackson, Michigan, named Love Inc. (Love-In-the-Name-of-Christ). Rock first became a board member in 2016 and became the president of Love Inc in 2018 until Rock retired in 2021.
For those who wish, a memorial contribution can be given in Rock's honor to The Mission of Hope Cancer Fund located at 823 N. Martin Luther King Jr. Drive, Jackson, MI 49202
Per Rock's request, cremation has taken place, and a memorial service will be announced later.
Rock's cremated remains will be interred at Lenawee Hills Cemetery in Adrian, Michigan.

I am sorry to hear this news of a passing of a dear friend and colleague in the community of a mission to help others.
I knew Rock at the beginnings of Mission of Hope and worked on helping others together. I loved his passion and drive.
We would cross paths from time to time and would catch up right were we left off.
