The family of Rodney Charles Sharboneau are saddened to announce his unexpected passing on Friday, February 13, 2026.
Rod was born in Trenton, Michigan, on September 6, 1957, to the late Lyle and Jean Sharboneau. Rod graduated from Trenton High School (class of 1976) and remained a lifelong resident of Trenton. Rod was a self taught master auto mechanic but a diesel mechanic by trade. There wasn't anything built with a motor that Rod couldn't fix or rebuild.
Rod's passions were many and all started at an early age with the help of his many childhood friends. He was an avid outdoorsman, and loved hunting, fishing, motorcycling, snowmobiling, boating, golfing and camping with friends and family. His greatest passion was any form of racing - from Motorcross at the Silverdome, to go-carts and stock cars at Flat Rock Speedway in the 70's and 80's. He loved to watch racing almost as much as he loved participating in races. Rod had a love for speed and the excitement and the adrenaline it produced. The faster the better.
Preceded in death by his loving parents, his sister Sherry and many cherished friends.
Survived by his son Randy (Shayla), ex-wife Robin, life partner of 34 years Donna (Fox) Lange, and his extended family Matt Lange (Vicki), Curtis Lange (Amanda), Justin Greene, and Kaitlyn Rohmer.
Loving Papa to Marley, Brayden, Angelina, Maddox, Violet, Delaney & Ellie.
Rod also leaves behind many loving family members (Fox & Lange) and lifelong friends (too many to list).
Rod will be truly missed by his family and friends, all of whom were touched by his genuine love, kindness, generosity and friendship.
