Rodelle Jorden Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by McGill Click Funerals & Cremations - Loudon on Oct. 1, 2025.
Rodelle Jorden, age 95 of Loudon, passed away Tuesday, June 17, 2025, at her home. Born Zula Rodelle Rohers, she was the daughter of the late Otto H. Rohers and Mary Pauline Gerald. Rodelle was one of four children in the Rohers family, who tragically lost their mother early in life.
Rodelle began her work career with Dr. George C. Nichopoulos (Elvis's doctor) in Memphis, Tennessee. After moving to Loudon, Tennessee in 1975, she worked for Dr. Cory Blair and Dr. Thomas McPeak at the Loudon Clinic for over 20 years.
Rodelle was a faithful member of Loudon Methodist Church for over 40 years until her health prevented her from attending and singing in the choir. She loved her dogs and the neighborhood feral cats that have come to the house for daily meals over the past 50 years.
Rodelle was preceded in death by her husband, Albert A. Jorden; her parents Otto Rohers Sr. & Mary Pauline; her son, Joseph D. Jorden (Joey); and her siblings, Otto Jr., Joe, and John.
She is survived by her daughter, Jeanne T. Jones (Jorden) and her husband Mike Jones; her son, Mark H. Jorden and his husband James R. (Wright) Jorden; her granddaughter, Amanda Hines (Jorden) & her husband Christopher Shane Hines; great-granddaughter, Alyssa Haynie; and daughter-in-law, Judith Averbach (Jorden).
Rodelle is also survived by her beloved life partner, Wendall Dormann of the past 14 years, including his daughters Lori, Dee and Kit.
For 50 years, Rodelle lived in the same house on Mulberry St. where she made many close friends amongst neighbors, and she is fondly remembered as "The Cake Lady" who baked and decorated numerous birthday, wedding, and other cakes for over three generations of Loudon families and friends.
A visitation period honoring and remembering Rodelle will be held from 11:00 AM - 1:00 PM on Monday, June 23, at McGill Click Funerals and Cremations. A private graveside will follow at Roberson Farm Cemetery.
