Rodett C. Kardane, 88, of Colts Neck, N.J., passed away peacefully at her home on November 16, 2025, surrounded by her loving family. Born on January 24, 1937, in North Bergen, N.J., Rodett was raised in Wanamassa and graduated from Asbury Park High School.

As a teenager, she discovered her lifelong love of horses and became an avid rider. After high school, she showed horses, taught riding lessons, and began working at N.J. Bell Telephone Company as a switchboard operator and receptionist. In 1956, she met the love of her life, Irv. They married soon after and eventually made their home in Colts Neck, where Rodett lived for the rest of her life. Her home was her paradise-surrounded by horse farms, deer, and the quiet beauty of nature.

Rodett loved the beach and ocean and cherished every moment spent vacationing with her family. She was a devoted advocate for her son, Danny, a role that shaped her life and led to many treasured friendships for both of them. Above all else, Rodett gave her life to her family. She adored her grandchildren and shared a special, unique bond with each one of them.

Rodett will be remembered for her kindness, her heart of gold, and her remarkable ability to see goodness in everyone and everything. Her family will miss her beyond measure.

Rodett is predeceased by her parents, Karl and Marguerite Clausen; her stepfather, Harvey Van Vranken; and her beloved son, Daniel Kardane. She is survived by her husband of 66 years, Irving; her son Robert and his wife, Robin; her daughter, Wendy Holsey; her four grandchildren, Stephanie Marone and her husband Michael, Michael Kardane, Kevin Holsey, and Ryan Holsey; her great-grandson, Joseph Marone; and her sisters, Karen Ruggiero and Nancy Otten.

Visitation will be held on Thursday, November 20, 2025, from 4:00–7:00 p.m., with a prayer service at 6:30 p.m., at Thompson Memorial Home, 310 Broad Street, Red Bank, NJ 07701. Burial services will be private. In lieu of flowers, and in honor of Rodett, donations may be made to her grandson's missionary work at https://donations.navigators.org/s/fund/701Pm00000hxXdWIAU/ryan-holsey.
