Rodger Edward Green, Sr. was born January 2, 1956 in Bellaire, Ohio. He departed this life on February 1, 2025 at the Arthur G. James Cancer Center. His parents John K. Green, Jr., Candace V. Stargen, a sister Myra Kay and his brother John R. Green preceded him in death.
He attended and was a 1974 graduate of George Washington High School. Rodger then enlisted in the United States Army and served Honorably. After discharge he then furthered his education where he attended and received an Associate Degree in Applied Science 1986, with a concentration in Business Management and Accounting from Jefferson Technical College, Steubenville, Ohio. Rodger was a lifelong resident of Columbus, Ohio retiring from COTA.
He was a RV enthusiast and a member of the Family Motor Coach Association Chapter of Central Ohio where he served as Chaplain. Rodger was also a sound technician for over forty years providing quality sound to numerous bands where he was given the title of DOCTOR OF SOUND. At the time of his passing he was a member of English Evangelique Des Sanctifies since 2014 and served in the capacity of Sound Engineer.
Rodger is survived by his devoted wife of 38 years April Green, and three children Raisa Green, Charita Green and Rodger E. Green, Jr. to cherish his memories. In addition he is survived by three brothers Larrie D. Green, Sr., of Columbus, Ohio, Reverend Doctor Kenneth S. Green, Sr. of Brunswick, Georgia and Eric D. Tibbs of Steubenville, Ohio. He also leaves to cherish his memories a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday, February 12, 2025 from 5:00 pm to 8:00 pm at Diehl-Whittaker Funeral Service 1370 East Main Street Columbus, Ohio 43205. Funeral Services will be held on Thursday, February 13, 2025 beginning at 11:00 am with a Visitation 1 Hour prior at Eglise Evangélique De Sanctifies 4525 Glenmawr Ave, Columbus, OH 43224. Burial will process to Eastlawn Cemetery, Columbus, Ohio immediately following.
