Rodger Milton Roering, 76, of Twin Valley, MN, passed away peacefully on June 10, 2025, surrounded by his loving family.
Born on July 31, 1948, in Detroit Lakes, MN, Rodger was the son of Milton and Ione Roering. Siblings, Clayton Roering and Lynee Gnoinsky.
On November 12, 1966, Rodger married the love of his life, Christine Brevik, at Green Meadow Church in Ada, MN. Together, raising three wonderful children—Danielle (Derek) Ruud, Jeremy (Amber) Roering, and Derrick Roering. Their home was always filled with warmth, love, and laughter.
Rodger was a graduate of Twin Valley High School and furthered his education by attending technical school, training as an aircraft mechanic. He served his county for four years of active duty in the U.S. Air Force, followed by 30 plus years in the North Dakota Air National Guard.
Rodger found joy in the simple pleasures—gardening, bird watching, camping, fishing, and hunting. He loved spending time with his grandchildren.
Rodger is survived by his wife of 59 years, Christine Roering; his children Danielle (Derek), Jeremy (Amber), and Derrick; his grandchildren Cole (Casey) Garthus, Cooper Roering, Max Roering, Marianna Chlebeck-VanLeur, Zoey Chlebeck-VanLeur, and Kelvin Chlebeck-VanLeur; and his great-grandchildren Abbott Wilson, Decklynn Garthus, and Lochlyn Garthus. He also leaves behind his sister, Lynee (Lee) Gnionsky, as well as numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Rodger was preceded in death by his parents, Milton and Ione Roering, and his brother, Clayton Roering.
Visitation will be Friday, June 20, from 1:00 - 2:00 p.m., followed by the memorial service at 2:00 p.m., in Zion Lutheran Church, Twin Valley, MN.
Graveside service with military honors will follow the service at Trinity Cemetery, Twin Valley, MN.
