Rodgers LeCounte, affectionately known as "Roy," was born on September 18, 1953, to the late Ernest and Blanche LeCounte. He was preceded in death by his sister Darlene LeCounte of Riceboro, GA. A proud native of Liberty County, Roy attended the Public Schools of Liberty County. His life was rooted in craftsmanship and the great outdoors.

A skilled carpenter and cement mason, Roy was self-employed. But beyond his trade, Roy's true passions were found in nature-especially hunting and fishing. When asked where he caught his fish, he'd flash a grin and say, "in the mout" or "in the water," a phrase that became his signature blend of humor and mystery.

Roy's love for the outdoors was matched by his joy in sharing it. He was happiest frying fish and entertaining friends and family, creating spaces filled with laughter, storytelling, and good food.

In late 2022, as his health declined, Roy became a resident of Magnolia Manor in Midway, where he spent his remaining days.

Rodgers leaves to cherish his memory two children: LaTasha LeCounte of Hinesville, GA and Jimmel Hargrove of Riceboro, GA. Five grandchildren Mikkel X. Arjoon (LaTasha), Amari Hargrove, Josiah Hargrove, Aaron Hargrove, Sarai Hargrove (Jimmel). One sister Earnestene (Elder Toney) Jones of Houston, TX. Three Brothers Malcolm (Lavonia) LeCounte. Marshall LeCounte, Levi (Sandra) LeCounte of Riceboro, GA and a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.
