Rodney Alan Battles, age 49, passed away on Wednesday, March 12, 2025, at Landmark Hospital in Columbia, MO.
Rodney was born on June 1, 1975, in Jefferson City, MO, to Gary and Debra (Huff) Battles. He was preceded in death by his mother, Debra Battles.
Rodney dedicated much of his career to the International Union of Operating Engineers, where he found great passion in crane operating. His dedication and skill led him to a fulfilling career until his retirement in 2016.
Rodney was a man of many interests. He enjoyed golfing, shooting guns, motorcycles, and airplanes. A devoted member of his community, he served on seven different committees, always striving to make a difference. He had a deep appreciation for family genealogy and took pride in bringing his ideas to life. He was also an active supporter of the Maclay Home and Presbyterian Church, embodying a spirit of generosity and service. He was also the founder of September Fest in Tipton.
Rodney was full of life-spontaneous, genuine, and always willing to lend a hand to his family and friends. Known for his mischievous yet good-hearted nature, he brought joy and laughter to those around him.
He is survived by his father, Gary Battles (Judy Wolf) of Syracuse; his daughters, Delayna Stover (Kenton) of Tipton and Emma Barnes (Derek II) of Maryland; his son, Brock Battles of Tipton; his sister, Jennifer Steward (Todd) of Centerview; and his beloved grandchildren, Adalee, Derek III, and Della.
Visitation will be held on Tuesday, March 18, 2025, from 4:00 p.m. until 6:00 p.m. at Fortuna Baptist Church. A memorial service will follow at 6:00 p.m., officiated by Pastor Brad Homan. A private interment will take place at Tipton Masonic Cemetery.
Memorial contributions may be directed to Delayna Stover to assist with Rodney's medical expenses.
Rodney will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him, but his legacy of kindness, dedication, and adventure will live on in the hearts of those he touched.
Arrangements have been entrusted into the care of Meisenheimer-Page-Dady Funeral Home in Tipton, MO.
