CHESHIRE - With profound sadness the family of Rodney Roger Bouchard, age 89 of Cheshire, share the sad news of his peaceful passing, with his family by his side, on Saturday, December 21, 2024 at Mid State Medical Center in Meriden. He was the devoted husband of Shirley Brown Bouchard
Mr. Bouchard was born on April 19, 1935 in Van Buren, Maine, the beloved son of the late Roland and Adrienne (Soucy) Bouchard and grew up alongside his brother, the late Gilman Bouchard. He proudly served his country with the U.S. Navy from 1954-1958. A highly trained Engineer, he first worked for the State of CT, Department of Corrections in Cheshire and later for the Veterans Administration in West Haven. Rodney was known for his compassion and unwavering commitment to his family. His kind heart and gentle nature left a lasting impression on everyone who had the privilege of knowing him. Among his greatest joys were taking cruises and fishing, two passions that allowed him to connect with nature and create cherished memories with loved ones. Rodney’s legacy is one of love, dedication, and kindness. He will be deeply missed by all who knew him but fondly remembered for the warmth he brought into their lives. May his memory bring comfort to those who mourn his passing.
Left to honor his memory besides his wife Shirley of 68 years are his six children: Michael, Darlene, Anne, Linda, Denise, and Steven. Rodney’s family continued to grow with the blessing of ten grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren, all of whom brought immense joy to his life.
