Rodney Lewis Hensley

Rodney Lewis Hensley was born on July 29, 1953, in Wynnewood, Oklahoma, to Leonard Don Hensley and Clarene (Emberlin) Christian. Rodney passed from this life on March 18, 2026 at his home in Elmore City, Oklahoma. He spent his early years attending Katie Schools and later graduated from Elmore City High School in the early 1970s.

Rodney proudly served his country in the United States Navy, where he worked as a flagman guiding jets safely to landing-a role that reflected his steady hand and sharp attention.

He was married to Addie Hensley, and together they built a life centered on family, hard work, and simple joys. Rodney was known for his ornery spirit, quick wit, and hands-on nature. He had a deep love for welding, often spending time perfecting his craft as a hobby. He also enjoyed working on his truck and could frequently be found tinkering, fixing, or improving something with his own two hands.

Rodney was a man who found happiness in the everyday moments-especially in the kitchen, where he was known for cooking the best eggs. But more than anything, his greatest pride and joy were his children, grandchildren, and family.

He took special care in teaching those he loved, sharing practical knowledge and life lessons. His grandchildren will always remember his geography lessons, especially his reminder that odd-numbered interstates run north and south, while even-numbered interstates run east and west-small teachings that left a lasting impression.

Rodney will be remembered for his strong work ethic, his humor, his love of family, and the wisdom he passed down to those who knew him.

Rodney is survived by his Son, Robbie Holtz and wife Deanna of Pauls Valley, Oklahoma; Brother, Larry Hensley of Midwest City, Oklahoma; Sister, Jeannie Krantz of Florida; Grandchildren, Shae Hensley of the home, Jada Bray and husband William Clegg of Elmore City, Oklahoma, Corey Holtz and wife Stacey of Pauls Valley, Oklahoma, Peyton Holtz of Tampa, Florida, Dessa Brewer and husband Matt Henry of Purcell, Oklahoma, Derrik Brewer and wife Sasha of Pauls Valley, Oklahoma; Great grandchildren, Jason Clegg, Madisyn Henry, Wyatt Henry, Aurora Brewer; and a host of other family and friends.

Rodney was preceded in death by his wife Addie Hensley; Parents, Leonard Hensley and Clarene Christian; Daughter, Janelle Carrie Hensley; and Sister-in-law, Connie Hensley.
