Rodney Lynn Jackson

1960 - 2026

With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of Rodney Lynn Jackson, age 65, of North Logan. Rod was surrounded by family when he passed away on January 30, 2026, at McKay-Dee Hospital following medical complications.

Born on April 19, 1960, Rod was raised on a farm in Sidney, Montana, as the youngest of three children. He met his wife, Mary, in eighth grade. They were married on June 26, 1981, and went on to share 45 years of marriage together.

Rod and Mary began raising their first two children in Billings. After working for ten years at Montana Steel, Rod accepted a position with Nucor Steel in 1989, to which he dedicated 31 years of his career. This opportunity brought their family to Cache Valley, where they welcomed their two younger children and built a life centered on family.

Rod loved the outdoors-gardening, soaking up the sun, swimming with his kids, camping, skiing, and giving his dogs daily runs. He enjoyed traveling with family, attending concerts, lunch outings with friends, and watching his grandkids play sports. He also had a love for jeeps, woodworking, and creating handmade jewelry.

He was dedicated to his children and to helping anyone who needed him. Rod freely gave his time, guidance, and support. He will be remembered for his gentle nature, kindness, and steady presence.

Rod is survived by his wife, Mary; his four children, Andrew (Holli) Jackson, Ashley Barnes, Mary Jackson, and Ryley (Jamie) Jackson; and his grandchildren, Krew and Finn Jackson, and Parker and Hartley Christensen. He is also survived by his brother, Jess (Pam) Jackson, and his sister, Julie Dugas, along with their families.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Marjorie Carter and Andrew Jackson Jr., and his brother-in-law, Tim Dugas.

Viewings will be held on Friday, February 6, from 6:00-8:00 p.m. and Saturday, February 7, from 10:00 a.m.-12:00 p.m. at Allen Mortuary, 420 E. 1800 N, North Logan, Utah. Burial will follow at 12:30 p.m. at North Logan Memorial Park, 2075 E. 2500 N., North Logan, Utah.

An open house celebration of life will be held Saturday, February 7, from 6:00-10:00 p.m. at Eagle's Landing, 6038 N. 1200 W., Smithfield, Utah. Light refreshments will be provided.
