Newark Valley, NY
Rodney B. Stevens, of Newark Valley, passed away on October 11, 2024, at the age of 71. Born on February 5, 1953, Rodney was one of seven children born to the late Carl and Betty (Hoops) Stevens.
Rodney is survived by his siblings Carol Dingman, Robert "Bob" Stevens, his twin sister Rita Egert, Brenda Stevens, and Gary (Sue) Stevens, a brother-in-law Bob Alexander, along with any nieces, nephews, and cousins. He will be greatly missed by his life-long friends Lisa and Tom Fenner and Pete Belden.
In addition to his parents, Rodney was predeceased by his sister Cindy Alexander, and his brother-in-law John Dingman.
Rodney proudly volunteered to serve his country in the U.S. Navy from 1974 – 1977, as a boiler mechanic. After his honorable discharge, Rodney worked various jobs including his most recent at Centerport Clam in Berkshire.
In his spare time, Rodney was an avid bowler and loved card games and gambling.
In honoring Rodney's wishes, there will be no services. Memories and condolences can be shared in his guest book at www.macphersonfh.com. The family is under the caring assistance of MacPherson Funeral Home in Newark Valley.
