Rodney Van Dunk Obituary
Rommy is survived by his fiancé Jenny; daughters Sydney and Kristen; son Rodney Jr. and stepson Isaiah. He is also survived by his father "Junior"; one sister Rahema; 11 brothers: Glenn, Craig, Jimi, Jamie, Morgan, Aaron, Harrison, Jorge, Josè, and Bobby; along with many nieces, nephews, and great-nieces and great-nephews.
Rommy made no excuses, he did everything and expected nothing. Mentor to all and a true giver! He made it his duty to know everyone around him and was always a call away if you needed him, no matter what. His philanthropic actions were contagious as he continued to spread God's word until the end and constantly spoke of his glory through his testimonies because he's survived so much. Rommy was a true fighter and with that, he would want you to remember to, "Stand For Something so you don't Fall for anything, Put family first, Give it all to God, and don't just talk, DO."
Friends may call on Sunday, 2/18, from 2 PM to 6 PM At Edwards Funeral Chapel, 160 Orange Ave where religious services will be held at 5 PM.
A repast will be held at The Elks Lodge, 1 Foxwood Ave, Mahwah, NJ 07430.

This is a tough day. I can go all the way back to when we were in the 5th grade together at Montibello. Or I can talk about how proud you were about telling me about your sons graduation at the police academy. Thats how long we been friends. I´ll miss our talks about our kids our cars our lives. They say a man is lucky if he can count on 2 people in a lifetime as friends. Well Rod I was a lucky man because I had you as my friend. I´ll miss you Rod, Rest easy your with God

Susan and I wish to let your entire family know how very sorry we are about the loss of Rommy, He was a very special person who we had gotten to know along with his dad and other family members. He had a gentle soul and his love for his family showed greatly.
