Rodolfo Mañalac Obituary

Rodolfo Mungcal Mañalac, a resident of Zachary and born in St. Rita, Pampanga, Philippines, peacefully went to his eternal home on April 16, 2022 at the age of 75. He was a loving spouse, father, and grandfather. He was a tireless and dedicated physician who cared for his patients like his own friends and family. He enjoyed traveling, watching any LSU sport that was on TV or in season, reading, cooking, and spending time with his family. Rodolfo is survived by his loving wife Theresita Jimenez Mañalac, son, Raoul James Mañalac (Allison), siblings, Dorotea Mendoza (Eddie), Lourdes Garcia (Chito), Maria Lapid (Rustico), Catalina Ayala, sisters in law, Felisa Mañalac and Cristina Mañalac, one grandson, August Peter Mañalac and numerous nieces, nephews, and extended family. He is preceded in death by his parents, Salvador and Isabel Mañalac, siblings, Nicholas Mañalac and Alfredo Mañalac and brother-in-law, Santiago Ayala. Visitation will be on Thursday, April 21, 2022 at St. Isidore Catholic Church in Baker from 9:00 a.m. until mass at 11:00 a.m. conducted by Fr. Frank Bass. Burial will follow in Hillcrest Cemetery, Baker. The family would like to send their thanks to all our family and friends who have supported them in this trying time. On behalf of Dr. Rudy, they would also like to send gratitude to his patients for the privilege of caring for them, many who became like family. They would also like to thank those who helped him care for his patients over the years, specifically Dorothea Holley, Barbara Robert, Sharon Gaspard, Holly Pourciau, Amanda Knippers, Brittany LeBlanc, and Leann Walker. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to St. Isidore Catholic Church in Baker, Louisiana and the Eternal World Television Network (EWTN). Shocked and saddened by Dr. Manalac's passing. Our whole family saw him as "OUR" family doctor. I would purposely book the last appointment of the day so we could talk politics and sports. No appointment was too long. Our heart goes out to his fabulous staff and family. We will miss him as a doctor and as a friend.

Uncle Boy, one of my best memory of you was when I was a little girl, my brothers & I along with my 3 cousins, were celebrating Christmas with you at the LIC apartment in NYC. You made us sing Christmas Carols & gave us money just for singing, no matter how horrible we musta sounded. I´ll never forget the time our families drove up to to West Point & Bear Mountain, I was a young girl, you held my hand the whole time as if I was your child. I will never forget these cherished moments spent with you!! You´ve always been so generous, so supportive to every family member. Only a phone call away, you never hesitated to help all those who needed you, even if it was to talk. You had a way of comforting everyone!! I will miss YOU & will always remember your gentleness & your kindness! Rest In Peace Uncle Boy!! Love Edith & family.

My deepest sympathy to the family and friends. My parents were patients of Doc and I chose him as my doctor as well. He was a kind, caring man. I have never known another doctor to be more mindful of his patients as he was. He took time to know his patients as people, not just the information in our files. He will be missed by many, but I will always remember him for his kindness and the wonderful smile with which he always greeted my mom and me. May God bless and comfort his loved ones. Heaven has gained an angel, but we will see him again one day.

Words cannot say enough about Dr Manalac. He was a one of a kind physician. I´d seen him for 29 years as my primary physician. He cared about his patients deeply. Over the years he and I became more than patient and physician, he was my friend. I am so sorry for his families loss. He was a great man and did so much for others. He lived a life of service to his patients. I am going to miss him SO much. Prayers for healing the hearts of his loved ones and those close to him. The medical community lost a great asset. I´m heartbroken

So sorry to hear. My Doc for 28 yrs. A soul with the most beautiful spirit. That's who he was. I called him my Dad because he was so easy to talk to. We could talk about anything. My heart is sad. Rest in peace my Doc and friend. I will never ever forget you. Thanks for all you've done. Lynn

I´m so sorry for your loss. Prayers for you and your family. Doc was a friend as well as my doctor. We would spend time talking at my appt. and the nurses would have to come get him to see his other patients. He will truly be missed and remembered.
