Mass of Christian Burial services for Rogelio Martinez, 69, of Timpson, TX, will be held at Sacred Heart Catholic Church on Friday, February 6, 2026, at 2:00 PM, with Father Jose Luis Vidarte officiating. Interment will follow. Visitation and Rosary will be held the evening prior, Thursday, February 5, 2026, visitation from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM and Rosary beginning at 7:00 PM at Taylor Funeral Home.

Rogelio Martinez, born on July 23, 1956, in Rancho La Esperanza, Guanajuato, Mexico, passed away on February 1, 2026.

Rogelio was preceded in death by his parents, Salvador Martinez and Gerarda Vasquez, and his sister, Graciela Martinez.

Born in a small farming community in Guanajuato, Mexico, Rogelio grew up immersed in agricultural life within a close-knit community. From an early age, he embraced the values of hard work and perseverance that farming required-values he later instilled in his own children. He courted his beloved wife, Magdalena, a neighbor and the daughter of his father's best friend, forming a partnership rooted in friendship and shared community ties.

In the late1970s, Rogelio migrated to East Texas in search of better opportunities and an improved quality of life for his family. A hardworking and determined man, he spent his early career in agriculture, continually striving to improve himself and learn new skills. His strong conviction and work ethic eventually led him to his dream of over-the-road trucking, where he later went on to successfully establish his own business.

As a truck driver, Rogelio traveled countless miles in dedication to both his work and his family, driving primarily throughout Texas and, over the years, as far as Canada. While he found great joy in the open road, his greatest happiness came from spending time with family and friends and celebrating life's many milestones.

He is survived by his loving wife, Magdalena Martinez; his siblings, Erasmo Martinez, Celso Martinez, and Eleuteria Martinez , his cousin Micaela Vaca Vazquez and extended family; his children, Jose Martinez and wife Leila of Spring, Texas; Sandy Lara and husband Jose Lara Jr. of Jacksonville, Texas; Martha Garza and husband Ruben Garza; and Mireya Martinez and husband Alejandro Resendis of Timpson, Texas; and his grandchildren, Eleanor and Ronan Martinez; Aurora, Teresa, Celeste, and Jose Lara III; Julian, Maylin, and Rosalin Garza; and Eloisa and Eden Resendiz.

Rogelio will be remembered by his family and all who knew him. His legacy lives on through the love of his wife, children, grandchildren, siblings, and extended family.
