Roger J. Belanger, born on March 25, 1930, in Gardner, Massachusetts, passed away on November 16, 2025.
Roger was a humble and dedicated man who left an indelible imprint on those who were privileged to have known him. Roger was a Korean War Veteran serving in the Marine Corps from 1951 to 1953.
Roger was a machine operator by trade, and he spent most of his career at the L.S. Starrett Company. His dedication to his work was evident, and he retired with a reputation for being a thoughtful and reliable employee.
But work was not his only passion. Roger was a man of many interests, which included skiing, jogging, walking, and working out at MWCC. He was a member of several organizations, including the Gardner American Legion Post #129, the Acadien Club of Gardner, the NRA, the Gun Owners Action League, and the MWCC Health Club, and he was a devoted member of the Catholic Church in Ashburnham. These hobbies and affiliations reflected his commitment to community, his love for the outdoors, and his belief in physical fitness.
Roger is survived by his niece, Lori Douthwright of Charlton, niece, Karen Scioscio of Enfield, CT; two great nieces, two great nephews, and six great great nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Joseph Belanger and Viola Wiley, and by his brother, Vernon Belanger.
The visitation for Roger will be held on Saturday, November 22, 2025, at the Mack Family Funeral Homes- Gardner Chapel, located at 105 Central Street, Gardner, from 9:30 - 10:15 am. A Funeral Mass will follow at 11:00 AM at Holy Rosary Church, located at 135 Nichols Street, Gardner. Burial in St. Joseph Cemetery, Fitchburg, will be private at a later date.
