Roger P. Bellamy, age 81, of New Castle, DE, passed away on Thursday, October 27, 2022.
Born in North Arlington, NJ on April 19, 1941, he was the son of the late Harold Bellamy and Edna (Turhune) Kropenski. Roger was also a graduate of William Penn High School. He made his career for more than 40 years as a retail manager for Strawbridge & Clothier.
Roger was a huge Philadelphia Phillies, Eagles, and NASCAR fan. He spent several years volunteering with the William Penn Marching Band and their pit crew. He loved marching band music and enjoyed watching the bands play. During Roger's leisure time, he enjoyed doing counted cross-stitch, LEGO's, and other arts and crafts projects. Roger was a family man, as his family meant the most to him and supporting the family in their endeavors. He was most proud of his grandchildren. He loved watching his grandchildren participate in their sporting activities and spending the holidays with them.
In addition to his parents, Roger was preceded in death by his beloved wife of 51 years, Nancy. He is survived by his loving daughter, Debra Marchlik (Joe) of Claymont; sister, Linda Rodriguez of New Castle; grandchildren, Lillian, Joey, and Catie; and his cat, Violet.
Funeral services will be a private event for the family.
