Roger Dale Bennett, 67, of Bedford passed away on Monday, August 4, 2025. He was born in Richmond, VA on December 9, 1957. A son of the late Eldridge Junior Bennett and Edith Mae Dooley Bennett. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister, Sandra Bennett Boyd.
Roger was an avid Washington Redskins fans and always enjoyed watching them play. He also enjoyed playing cards, especially Poker. Time with family and friends was always cherished from cookouts, time spent together, and he also was up for a game of cornhole. He was loved by his family and friends and will be missed in the days ahead.
Roger is survived by his son, Jeremy D. Bennett and his girlfriend (Tiffany Overstreet), two stepsons, Tim Laughlin (Christie Hill) and Terry “Dawg” Laughlin and (Sarah “Giggles”); four grandchildren, Cody Bennett, Alexis Nelms, Cameron Bennett and Nevaeh Bennett; siblings, Joyce Bennett (Bill Cunningham) and Joe Bennett (Sandy); brother-in-law, Kenny Boyd. Also surviving are numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and many other family and friends especially four very special friends, Kevin, Winston, Willie and Marvin.
