Roger Lee Carmichael, 74, of 283 Granite Dr., Roxboro, transitioned to heaven on Thursday, October 2, 2025. He was at home and in the presence of his loving wife of 55 years. Born in Halifax County, VA, Mr. Carmichael was the son of the late Walter Wyatt and Emma Louise Nelson Carmichael. Mr. Carmichael was also preceded in death by his brother, Wilbert Carmichael. Mr. Carmichael was a crane operator for over 40 years. He was a faithful member of Lamberth Memorial Baptist Church, and more recently attended Life Church in Danville, VA. Earlier in life, Mr. Carmichael played keyboard in several bands, and in later years he faithfully used his gift in the praise and worship ministry at church. He was a loving husband, father, and grandfather; known by his family as Pop.

Mr. Carmichael is survived by his wife, Elizabeth "Libby" Carmichael; two children, Jay Carmichael and Jenny C. Hicks (Craig); one sister, Shelby C. Smith R.B); five grandchildren, Kaley Fuller, Kenston Fuller (Kayla), Madison Hicks, Cade Hicks and Jenna Grace Hicks. He is blessed to have four great grandchildren, Kayson, Emma Lynn, Finnley and Bentley Fuller. Also dear to his heart is Tarrah Crews, and daughter Kennedy Jacobs, who affectionately called Mr. Carmichael her Roxboro Grandfather.

A celebration of life service will be held 3PM Sunday, October 5, 2025 at Lamberth Memorial Baptist Church by the Rev. Ricky Lamm and Pastor Joseph White. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Visitation will be held 7-8:30PM Saturday at Brooks & White Funeral Home and at other times at the home.

Pallbearers will be Chip Lawrence, Scott Lawrence, Matthew Lawrence, Larry Coleman, Wendall Carmichael, Clay Carmichael, and Stephen Smith, all nephews of Mr. Carmichael.

Memorials may be made to Lamberth Memorial Baptist Church, 1026 Longs Store Rd., Roxboro, NC, 27574.
