Roger Dale Chambers, 76, of Reidsville went home to be with the Lord on Sunday, September 1, 2024.
Funeral services will be held at 1:30 PM Thursday, September 5, 2024, at Wilkerson Funeral Home with Rev. Doug Bray officiating. Burial will follow at Evergreen Memory Gardens. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service and other times at the home.
Roger was born in Reidsville to the late Ross Everette and Claudie Chambers. He was a greenskeeper at Forest Oaks Country Club and Greensboro Country Club for 37 years and loved working in his yard. He also loved to collect antiques and watch dirt track racing. Above all else, he loved his family, especially his grandchildren Ethan and Emily.
Roger was preceded in death by his parents; special aunt Emma Chambers Collins who raised him; brothers Billy Everette, Weldon Everette, Mack Everette and Dewayne Chambers; sisters Barbara Ann Smith and Faye Terry. He is survived by his wife of 51 years Kay Toler Chambers; son Dale Chambers and wife Amy; grandson Ethan Chambers; granddaughter Emily Chambers; brothers Ronnie Everette, Tommy Everette and wife Kathy, Donnie Fletcher and wife Kay; sister Linda Fletcher.
Special thanks to the two gentlemen involved in Roger’s rescue, the Guilford County Rescue Department, and the fine staff at Moses Cone Hospital who cared for him.
