Roger was born on May 14th, 1939 and passed away on
April 3rd, 2025 at the age of 85We are honored to memorialize the life of Roger Crevier, a man of diverse interests and boundless curiosity, who lived fully, loved deeply, and left an indelible mark on the hearts of all who knew him. Born on May 14, 1939, in Holyoke, MA, Roger was the cherished son of Gabriel and Justine Crevier. His journey ended peacefully on April 3, 2025, in Princeton, New Jersey, his beloved family surrounding him.
Roger was the only child of Gabriel and Justine Crevier. He received his BS
from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute in Physics in 1961, followed by a Master's in Physics from Yale (1964). He realized that a life in the research lab was not for him, and one of the highlights of his life was his next two years in the Peace Corps in Ghana. Anyone who met Roger came away with stories of his travels hitchhiking through Africa, and his abiding love for Ethiopian food. He earned his MBA at Harvard Business School in 1967, which was followed by a multi-decade career at Chase Manhattan Bank. Roger worked for Chase in New York, Paris, Geneva, London, Egypt, and Saudi Arabia, and headed the Middle East division of Chase. He joined Investcorp for several years before returning to Harvard for a Master's of Science in Health Policy and Management. His last role was as Chief Financial Officer at the Phoenix House Foundation, from which he retired.
Roger was an avid traveler, horseback rider, storyteller, skier and chef. He loved to read novels in French and English and was a tireless student. In his later years, he polished his Arabic, taught himself basic Hebrew and Aramaic, and continued to study calculus and quantum mechanics. He loved strolling into the town of Princeton and treasured family walks along the canal while the Thanksgiving turkey roasted. He loved relaxing and spending time in his beautiful garden, reading a book or having BBQs with his family. He also enjoyed spending time in Paris and traveling around the world with his wife. Roger had a great sense of humor until the very end.
Above all, Roger adored his family, and they adored him. He is survived by his beloved wife and best friend, May; as well as his four children, Petra, Rana, Chris, and Justin, and his eight beloved grandchildren, Noah, Sebastian, Zoe, Daphne, Chloé, Nico, Nick, and Andrew.
He will forever be missed and his memory will live on with all of us.
In lieu of flowers the family is asking for donations in honor of Roger to be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.
