Mr. Roger Dale Wilkerson, Sr., age 71, entered into rest on Wednesday, January 15, 2025 at his home with his family by his side. Funeral services will be 12:00 PM Friday, January 17, 2025 from the chapel of Miller-Rivers-Caulder Funeral Home by Reverend Donald Deal with a private burial to follow. The family will greet friends from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM Friday, prior to the service at the funeral home.
Mr. Wilkerson was born on July 26, 1953 in Marlboro County, SC a son of the late Vernon and Agnes Tyner Wilkerson. Roger retired from SCDOT with over thirty years of service. He enjoyed working in his garden and being outdoors. His greatest joy in life came from being a "Papa" and "Pops" to his beloved grandchildren.
He is survived by his wife of 38 years, Annette J. Wilkerson of the home; children, Roger “Dale” (Penny) Wilkerson, Jr. of Chesterfield, SC, Tiffany (Jimmy) Morton of Chesterfield, SC, William Tucker of Patrick, SC, Rebecca Danielle Teal (Ricky Bass) of Patrick, SC; grandchildren, Megan (Nate) Gardner, Logan Wilkerson (Trent Allen), Davin (Sarah) Wilkerson, Addison Morton, Brayden Morton, Christian Teal, Blake Teal; great-grandchildren, Cason, Lily, Chance, Chandler, and soon to be arriving, Micah; siblings, Marceine Raffaldt of Cheraw, SC, Dewayne “Buck” (Hettie) Wilkerson of Bethune, SC, Myrtle (Jimmy) Short of Chesterfield, SC; and family friend and special uncle, Roy Gooden; in addition to numerous nieces and nephews.
The family wishes to express their deepest gratitude to the staff of CenterWell Home Health and McLeod Hospice of Cheraw for their extraordinary care and support during this time.
