Mr. Roger Dale Danley, age 72 of Ararat, North Carolina, passed away on Friday, April 11, 2025, at the Joan and Howard Woltz Hospice Home in Dobson surrounded by his loving family. Mr. Danley was born on October 16, 1952, in Forsyth County to the late Ernest William and Elsie Arlene Taylor Danley. Roger was a loving husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother, and friend. He will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him. Surviving is his wife, Evelyn Kaye Crotts Danley; daughters and sons-in-law, Sharon Danley Causey and Nathan “John”, Stephony Grubbs and Chip (who he thought of as his own daughter); two grandchildren, Rachel Atkins and James, Nolan Causey; Trey Grubbs (who he thought of as his own grandchild); one great-grandchild, James Ray Atkins, and one on the way, Maddie Atkins; a brother, Brother Frank Danley; along with many nieces, nephews, great-nieces and nephews, and great great nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, Mr. Danley was preceded in death by a son-in-law, Greg Jenkins; a sister, Mary Frances Danley Hooker; and two brothers, James Danley, Junior Danley; and an infant brother. A funeral service will be held on Tuesday, April 15, 2025, at 2:00 PM at Moody Funeral Home Chapel in Mount Airy with Brother Chris Danley, Brother Jack Anderson; and Brother Frank Danley officiating. Interment will follow in the Hutchens-Venable Family Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Tuesday, April 15, 2025, at Moody Funeral Home from 1:00 PM until the time of the service. The family would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to the staff of Mountain Valley Hospice and Palliative Care, especially nurse Cindy Beverly for the care and support provided to Mr. Danley during his illness. Moody Funeral Services in Mount Airy has been entrusted with the arrangements.
