Roger was one of those teachers that you knew selected the right profession the instant you met him. He was kind, caring, funny and personable. He truly took time to know his students and knew how to make learning enjoyable. Whether he knew it or not, Roger was a true friend and mentor to me. I had him as a teacher, worked with him as a colleague and eventually had the pleasure of being his supervising principal. Roger taught me valuable lessons through each one of these journey's. I have fond memories of he and I negotiating new teacher contracts with the school board which required many nights of our time together. It was during these meetings that I truly got to know Roger. He was a consummate gentleman who loved his family and who also loved his profession. As Corey said in his post below, Roger made a strong positive impact of many, many people. He will be greatly missed. My sincere condolences to the Farrell family.
Rest in peace good friend.

Mr Farrell was my homeroom teacher. He was a good guy. You showed me what a real man was. What decisions have to be made. As a Young Man. Mr Ferrell took more interest in me. Than my family took interest in me. My heartfelt condolences go out to his family. And to his life friends. Thank you Mr Farrell. I don't think you knew .The impact that you made in my life .as a Young Man. How those moments carried over to my adult life. The school Thornton Burgess is like a million years back. But there are some people that make impressions in your life. Positive manner .that you never forget. Cuz they didn't have to show any interest. Thank you. Sir

I'm thankful for having Mr Farrell for Social Studies at TWB. His passion for history was evident to all and was passed on to his students, including me. I appreciate him tutoring me in history as well as in different areas of life. It's helped me become who I am today. Rest in Peace

My condolences to Mr. Farrell´s family. I had him for history at TWB. As a student who struggled in academics, he was one of the few educators who really pulled me in, sparked my interest and encouraged me as a student... which goes a long way! I was just talking about him last week. I was telling the story about he taught our class how to tie a necktie. Very fond memories. He will always be remembered to his students.
