Roger Fosmoen Obituary

Roger Allen Fosmoen age 85 of Rogers City passed away at Medilodge in Rogers City surrounded by his family on Saturday, August 24, 2024.
He was born May 15, 1939 in Pontiac Thelmar and Hilda (Christianson) Thronst then adopted by Henry and Leona Fosmoen.
Roger graduated from Almont High School then served in the United States Air Force for four years and the Navy Reserves for the next 10 years. On January 14, 1961 he married Ruth Harper. Roger enjoyed hunting, fishing, riding motorcycles and car racing.
He is survived by his wife of 63 years, Ruth; daughter, Tania (Troy) Gilbert; son, Wayne Fosmoen; five grandchildren, Hunter Fosmoen, Logan Fosmoen, Jazmine Gilbert, Shayleen (fiancé, Ryan Ciolek) Gilbert and Corey (Margaret) LaFay; five great grandchildren, twins, Graham and Olivia, Grayson, Paxton and Joshua; two brothers, Clyde (Bonnie) Spenst and Calvin Spenst; and two sisters, Marilynn Spenst and Charlene (Ned) McDonald.
Roger was preceded in death by his parents and a sister, Carol Goetz.
Military honors and inurnment will take place at Great Lakes National Cemetery. Date and time to be announced.

Roger was always happy to extend a invite to have a beer and conversation when you came to visit him. He was a great friend. Ruth will be lost without him, but we will take care of her. Have a wonderful trip to join your family in heaven. Go with peace Roger.
