Roger Gene Frankenstein, Sr., 77, of Zelienople, passed away after a brief illness at UPMC Passavant Hospital on Wednesday, January 21, 2026. He was a cherished husband, father, and grandfather who will be greatly missed.

Born May 20, 1948, in Ellwood City, the son of the late Richard Albert and Alice Rae Reuss Frankenstein. Roger was a Seneca Valley graduate with the class of 1967.

Roger was a decorated sergeant during the Vietnam War serving from 1968 through 1970. After returning home he married the love of his life Evelyn Shaner Frankenstein on June 4th, 1971. Together they had two children, April Godber Frankenstein and Roger Gene Frankenstein Jr. He was a union steelworker at Roezing & Bronze, and Halstead where he was the union steward. He also enjoyed playing Xbox with his six grandchildren Taylor, Tanner, and Trevor Frankenstein, and Jamie, James, and Brandy Godber.

He is survived by his brothers, Richard (the late Patty) and David (the late Nancy) Frankenstein.

In addition to his parents, roger was proceeded in death by his daughter, April Godber and his brother, Dennis Frankenstein.

If Roger could be described in one word it would be: patriot. He truly loved his country and flew a flag everyday at his home.

Friends will be received for visitation from 6-8 P.M. on Monday, January 26th, 2026 at Boylan Funeral Homes, Inc., 324 E. Grandview Ave., Zelienople, PA 16063.

A funeral service and military honors will be held at 10 A.M. on Tuesday, January 27th, 2026 at the funeral home with Pastor Paul Fish, officiating.

Roger will be laid to rest at Pinewood Memorial Gardens in Cranberry Twp.
