Richard P. Witney, age 93, of Gibsonia, PA, passed away on February 16, 2026.

Born on May 9, 1932, in Pittsburgh, PA, he was the son of the late William L. and Helen (Pendleton) Witney.

In addition to his parents, Richard was preceded in death by his loving wife, Virginia M. (Luther) Witney; and his brothers, William B. (Genevieve) Witney, Donald (Lois) Witney, and Robert (Stevie) Witney.

Richard attended and graduated from Mt. Lebanon High School and Penn State University. He served in the Coast Guard from June 30 to Aug. 27, 1951 as a deckhand and then in the U.S. Army from 1954 to 1956 as a Signal Corp. He was a teacher after college and then had a long career with Alcoa as a Senior Systems Analyst. He also enjoyed crossword puzzles, bridge with friends, TV and bowling, as well as spending time with family.

Richard leaves behind to cherish his memory his children, Beth Jack (Chet) of Pittsburgh, PA; Bruce Witney (Keumme) of Pleasanton, CA; Douglas (Amy) Witney of Blacksburg, VA; and Brian Witney of Tucson, AZ; loving grandfather of Nathan Cunningham, Anthony (Jodi) Jack, Chester Jack, Alex Witney and Anna Witney; and his great-grandchild, Cami Cunningham, and many nieces and nephews.

Services for Richard are private. Richard will be laid to rest at Mt. Lebanon Cemetery.
