Nancy Tatem Buck, daughter of Marian Vincent Tatem and Lloyd Norgrave Tatem was born October 18th, 1931 in Sewickley, Pennsylvania. As the child of a military officer during the Second World War, she experienced a nomadic life moving between Camp Hill PA, Washington DC and Blackstone VA, eventually settling back in Pittsburgh where she graduated from Mount Lebanon High School in 1949. She spent her summers with family and friends at their rustic family cottage on the shores of Lake Erie in Ohio, some of her fondest memories. Nancy attended Allegheny College in Meadville, PA where she earned a degree in Biology. In 1955 she married Robert Buck, her high school sweetheart, they had three children. Her early nomadic life repeated itself as the family moved for Bob's corporate career, eventually settling in the Detroit area.

Nan began her life in Real Estate at Hall & Hunter Realtors in Birmingham Michigan, retiring at the age of 85. Nan was gregarious and social with an iconic wit that all who knew her would remember fondly, or mostly fondly as she would say. Nan was an avid reader, tennis player, and most of all an intrepid traveler.

Of course Nan was much more than all these things. She was our mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and cherished friend. We will miss her. She is preceded in death by her only sister, Sylvia Tatem Hackett and is survived by her children, Thomas Buck (Margaret), William Buck (Karen) and Elizabeth Alley (Robert MD) in addition to 11 grandchildren and 8 great-grandchildren.

A luncheon to share memories and celebrate Nan's life will be held at a later date. Details to follow.
