Lucy V. Coronel

Lucy Villarama Coronel, daughter of the late Francisco and Julita Villarama, passed away peacefully on February 23, 2026. She was born on December 22, 1944 in Angat, Bulacan Philippines. She attended the University of Santo Tomas where she obtained her Bachelor's in Nursing in 1967. She later moved to Philadelphia in 1968 to start her nursing career and finally settled in Detroit, MI, where she dedicated 40 years at Harper/Grace Hospital and Karmanos Cancer Center.

Lucy always had a caring and generous heart. She always made sure that her parents, brothers, nieces and nephews in the Philippines were well taken care of. As a long term parishioner of St. Anastasia Parish in Troy, MI, Lucy often volunteered for Focus Hope, Adoration, and as a Martha to help prepare meals for those who lost a loved one. She was a faithful woman and prayed the rosary daily. Lucy also loved baking, cooking, knitting, crocheting, and spending quality time with her loved ones.

Lucy will be incredibly missed by her family and friends. She is survived by her loving husband of 54 years, Ernesto, her three children, Ercylynn (Daniel) Hosie, Erwin (Lindsay) Coronel, and Emmylynn (Cyrus) Castillon, her eight grandchildren, Gabriella, Maple, Catalina, Rosalia, Valentina, Gianna, Vivianna and Raphael, her brothers Lucio, Gregorio, Felicisimo, Narciso, and German, and was preceded in death by her brother Jose.

Family will receive friends at A.J. Desmond and Sons, 2600 Crooks Road, Troy, MI Thursday, February 26, 2026, 2:00 PM - 8:00 PM.

Funeral Mass will be held on Friday, February 27, 2026 at 10:00 AM at St. Anastasia Catholic Church, 4571 John R Rd, Troy, MI 48085. Visitation prior to mass is at 9:30 AM.
