Roger C. Hau, age 87, passed away on Tuesday, March 21, 2017 at his home in Sun Prairie. He was born on May 17, 1929 in St. Cloud,WI the Holyland . He was the son of August and Julia Hau. He married Ann Clochesy on September 11, 1953 in Fond du Lac. Roger was a Veteran of the Korean War. He worked at Wisconsin Power and Light Co. for 42 years. He retired at age 62 as the Electric Marketing Manager. He served as a Sun Prairie Alderman, Grand Knight with the Knights of Columbus in Fond du Lac and former member of the Lions Club. He loved to vacation 2 weeks every year for 40 years at Sunset Resort in Eagle River and spent winters in Florida for 23 years. He had a strong Catholic faith. Roger loved playing cards, bowling, golf, hunting and fishing, Asparagus hunting, driving his red convertible and being a Mr. Fix-It. He is survived by his wife, Ann; 6 children, Patti (Wes) Chaussee, Doug (Mary) Hau, Mary Hau, Tim (Chris) Hau, Jim (Karen) Hau, Sherry (Tom) Pearson; 9 grandchildren, Rebecca (Seth) Hardell, Alan Chaussee, Ben Hau, Greg Hau, Nick (Gabi) Hau, Justin (Joanna) Stegmann, Brad (Tara) Stegmann, Haden Hau, Nathan Hau; great grandchildren Griffen, Teagan and Jackson; a sister Willie Smedburg; and a sister-in-law, Joan Hau. He was preceded in death by his parents; 5 sisters, Rose (Fran) Sippel, Josie(Miles) Phalen, Mag (Ed) Anders, Rae (Ted) Olig, Trudie (Claude) Wimberger; 5 Brothers, Joe, Erv (Laura), Rich (Marge), Greg (Dolores) and Al (Marjorie) and a brother-in-law Swede Smedburg. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, March 27, 2017, at Sacred Hearts of Jesus and Mary Catholic Church, 227 Columbus Street, Sun Prairie. Monsignor Duane Moellenberndt will preside. Visitation will be from 9:00 a.m. until the time of Mass on Monday at the Church. In lieu of flowers memorials can be made to Sacred Hearts Endowment Fund. If you would like to make a memorial donation, but will not be attending services please send to Tuschen-Newcomer Funeral Home c/o Roger Hau. I was very sorry to hear of Roger's passing. You have our sympathy. I have very pleasant memories of working with Roger and pheasant hunting. He leaves behind a family he was very proud of.

Aw. Such fond memories of Mr Hau and the family. He had such a great smilpe. I'm sure mom and dad were there to greet him. So sorry I'm not closer but I am sending a prayers and la huge warm hug to each of you.

I worked in the service department at Janesville Power& Light for 35 years. Roger came by occasionaly so we are related. My family originated from Mt Calvry [ the Holy Land] ,another association. God Bless

Roger and I were colleagues while working at WPL in the Consumer Services Dept. I had a lot of respect for his opinions, and although he and I didn't always agree on things, we always got along. He had an infectious laugh that I still remember, and a way of bringing things into focus during disagreements about an issue.

We took a couple of business trips together, but one that will always stand out is a conference in Chicago. We managed to slip away for a bit to the race track at Arlington Park, and frittered away a couple of dollars on those nags. I think he finally hit it big on the last race, and ended up breaking even for the day. I was not that fortunate.

Roger, Ed Swanson, Betsy Benson, and I all worked for Dale Moody during those times, and we had a good working relationship. I wish all of my assignments had been as much fun.

So sorry to hear of Roger's passing. As a high school classmate of Tim's and one of Tim's college roommates and lifelong friends, I heard a lot about 'Rog' over the years and enjoyed the few times I had a chance to visit with him. I know he will be dearly missed.
