There'd be peace on earth if everyone who enjoyed Roger's arrangements and percussion perfection would stop for 3 minutes and surrender to the grooves he etched in our memories like a 45. May they never stopped spinning.

I know Roger Hawkins only by his music, and the wonderful documentary "Muscle Shoals," of which I have a copy and have watched many times. The Swampers were an incredible story and Roger was an integral part. I am saddened and feel a great loss at the news of his death. But what a wonderful life experience of music he brought us. My sincere condolences and prayers to his family.

Roger ... You made my life better.
Your drumming was simply the most
tasteful of your time. I loved to hear you, David together. The best damn rhythm section I ever heard.
I was good friends with Scott Boyer (another great one that has passed on) and many times we wished that you would come down to Panama City Beach and play with David, and the Muscle Shoals Horns at the famous “”Day After Laborday” Shows. Seeing Scott, David, some of the newer guitar slingers from the Shouls, and the old horn section was always a great show and treasured moments for me to hear my music gods
My most sincere sympathy to your family and friends. You will be missed my brother. Long live the Swampers !!
