Roger Carlton Hendry

Roger Carlton Hendry, 75, of Lawrenceville passed away peacefully on Wednesday, October 26, 2022, after a 3 ½ year valiant battle with glioblastoma brain cancer. He was born on February 25, 1947, in West Point, Georgia to the late Margie and Carlton O'Neal Hendry.
Roger, after attending both Brown and Therrell high schools in Atlanta, went on to work in sales for the automotive refinishing industry for 30+ years. He also worked for the Gwinnett County Government prior to retirement. He was an active Freemason for over 36 years, a former member of many lodges, including Mountain Park, Gwinnett, Sweetwater, and the Dekalb commandery of the Knights Templar, and a current member of the Grayson Masonic Lodge. He was an avid motorcycle rider, a former member of the "Traveling Men" motorcycle club, and rode in many charity events throughout Georgia.
Roger was preceded in death by his loving parents, daughter Laura Hendry Livery (Michael), and wife of 34 years, Meredith Wheatley Hendry. He is survived by stepsons, David and John Galatas (Traci); two brothers, Ed Hendry (Dianne), Steve Hendry (Janet); sister, Karen Thompson (Bruce); two grandchildren, Jack and Sarah Galatas; many nieces and nephews; and many loving friends. There was nothing Roger wouldn't do for his friends and family, he had never met a stranger, and loved his family and friends fiercely.
A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, November 19, 2022, at Wages and Son Funeral Home located at 1031 Lawrenceville Hwy; Lawrenceville, GA 30046. Visitation hours will be from 1pm – 3pm with a service to immediately follow.
