A Funeral Mass for Roger Malkowski, 73, of Fairfield will be held at 10:30 a.m. Monday, August 19, 2024 at St. Bernard’s Catholic Church in Belfield with Father Shane Campbell celebrating. Burial will follow at St. Mary’s Ukrainian Catholic Cemetery North of Belfield.
Visitation will be held from 3:00 – 5:00 p.m., Sunday, August 18 at Stevenson Funeral Home in Dickinson with a rosary and prayer service beginning at 4:00 p.m. Visitation will continue one hour prior to the funeral mass in Belfield.

Roger passed away Sunday, August 4, 2024 at CHI St. Alexius Hospital in Dickinson.
Roger was born in Dickinson, ND on January 3, 1951 to Philip and Kathryn (Petryszak) Malkowski. He graduated from Belfield High School in 1969. After graduation, Roger attended Dickinson State College for one year. Roger met Kathleen Armbrust and the couple married on August 21, 1973 at St. Demetrius Catholic Church. To this union three sons were born, Ryan, Kasey, and Qwain.
Roger grew up farming and ranching with his father and Uncle Frank Petryszak where he found his love for Hereford Cattle. After school, he started employment rough-necking for the oil industry, & hauling gas for Koppinger Oil. With his interest being in agriculture, Roger decided to venture out on his own by establishing Malkowski Trucking in the early 80's until retirement.
Roger was a member of the Belfield Knights of Columbus Council 6310, The Eagles, St. Demetrius Catholic Church, and the Billings Co. Volunteer Fire Department.
Roger enjoyed planting trees, family gatherings, fishing, camping, and taking care of his cattle especially during calving and brandings. He loved to socialize and made sure to keep in contact with all his friends, especially his daily phone call with Edwin Cerkoney. Roger will be remembered for his great conversations with family, friends, and neighbors.
Roger is survived by his wife, Kathy of Fairfield; sons, Ryan (John) of Dallas, TX, Kasey (Darnyl) of Fairfield, and Qwain of Fairfield; grandchildren, Kadyn (Alexis), Danyka (Jayd), Dawsyn, Ella, and Taylor; brother, Gary (Patti) Malkowski of Dickinson; and numerous brothers and sisters-in-law, and nieces and nephews.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Philip and Kathryn; father and mother-in-law, Joseph and Anna Mae Armbrust; and his two dogs, Fritz and Cheechka.
In lieu of flowers family suggests donations be made to the Billings Co. Fire Department or the Bismarck Cancer Center.
