Roger Dale Nay, age 55, a native of Indianapolis, Indiana and a resident of Seymour, Indiana, passed away on Wednesday, July 31, 2024 at Columbus Regional Hospice. He was the son of Dale Nay and Karen (Scott) Nay of Indianapolis, Indiana, formerly of Seymour, Indiana. Roger was a member of St. Ambrose Catholic church and grew up at Central Christian Church. He enjoyed fishing, the outdoors, swimming in the ocean, poetry and classic rock with Led Zepplin, Billy Joel and John Mellancamp being among his favorites. Roger was a published author and his writing was reflective of his reasoning. He published three horror books under the writers name "Dale Hollin". He was an intelligent, funny, quiet yet strong, witty and loving man that was a source of stability. He was an excellent cook and specialized in chili, pot roast and fish. He loved his family dearly especially his beloved daughter, Versailles.
Roger is survived by his parents, one daughter Versailles Nay of Indianapolis, Indiana and one sister Jeanine King and her husband Charles of Indianapolis, Indiana. His loving girlfriend of 4 years, Courtney Durham of Seymour, Indiana.
The family will receive friends on Wednesday, August 14, 2024 at Central Christian Church in Seymour, Indiana from 10:00 AM until 12:00 PM with funeral services beginning at 12:00 PM with Pastor Tyler Tolbert officiating. Internment will be held at a later date at St. Ambrose Cemetery.
The family requests that donations be directed to St. Ambrose Catholic School or the American Liver Society in his honor.
