Roger Newman

Mr. Roger Newman, age 82, passed away on Sunday, January 23, 2022 at Taylor Regional Hospital in Hawkinsville, Georgia.
Visitation will be held Sunday, January 30, 2022 at Clark Funeral Home in Hawkinsville, Georgia from 12:30 - 2:00 pm.
Graveside services will be held at 3:00 pm at Friendship Baptist Church in Pineview, Georgia with Dr. Don McClung officiating.
Mr. Newman was born in Pulaski County on February 25, 1939 to the late Ottis and Mildred Newman. He was a lifelong resident of Hawkinsville, Georgia.
He was a self-employed co-owner of Newman Brothers Lumber Company and Newman Brothers Logging. He was happiest being with his family and friends with which he made many memories he loved to share. Mr. Newman was well known for his big personality, sense of humor, and quick wit. He was an outdoorsman who enjoyed nature and had a genuine love for all animals.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Ottis and Mildred Newman; brother Theo Newman and step-brothers James Newman, Harold Newman, Billy Newman, Lamar Newman, and Ray Newman.
Those left to forever cherish his memory include his wife, Brucksyne Mixon Newman of Hawkinsville, GA; son Shea (Lindsay) Newman of Hawkinsville, GA; daughters Monica Peavy of Macon, GA, Mia (Rawls) Edwards of Macon, GA and Bridgit Newman of Hawkinsville, GA; sisters Helen (Ellis) Smith of Saint Simons Island, GA, Doris (Dickie) Scarborough of Valdosta, GA, Joan (Wayne) Simmons of Hawkinsville, GA, and Laurie Mincey of Hawkinsville, GA; grandchildren Chandler (Josh) Schindler, Landri Edwards, Addisyn Newman and Dylan Barfield.
He also leaves behind his very special animals - 2 horses (Hope and Prince), 1 miniature donkey (Habanero), 2 dogs (Lily and Sassy), 2 parakeets, and 1 cat (Francine).
