Roger Owen Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Barnes-Friederich & Pope Funeral Home - Midwest City on May 23, 2025.
Roger Jollie Owen peacefully passed away surrounded by his loving family on April 29, 2025. He was born on July 17, 1947, in Harrison, Arkansas to parents Burley and Nolene (Rogers) Owen.
Roger served in the United States Army as a Drill Sargent. After serving in the Army, he started working at Tinker Air Force Base, eventually retiring. After retirement with TAFB, he started working for the Department of Transportation driving a bus in the Mid-Del area.
Old classic cars and Westerns were some things Roger truly enjoyed. Most of all he enjoyed spending time with his family attending sporting events. He loved having his family around.
Roger is preceded in death by his parents, Burley and Nolene Owen; his cousin and best friend, Jerry Owen; his in-laws, Thomas and Emma Gregg; and his sons, Christopher and Larry Owen.
He is survived by his beautiful wife of 57 years, Kathy Owen; his daughter, Temple (Ron) Adkins of Moore; his daughter, Darcee (Daniel) Gibb of Oklahoma City; his son, Brad (Misty) Owen of Moore; his grandchildren, Dalton (Morgan) Gibb, Derek Gibb, Andrew (Christina) Adkins, Kaden Adkins, Emma Owen, and Kennedy Grace; his great grandchildren, Amelia Adkins, Elijah Jones, and Baby Gibb whom is expected in August; his sisters, Elaine (Johnny) Green and Joann (Jerry) Kreger; his brother, Kenneth (Debbie) Owen; and a multitude of nieces and nephews.
A special thank you to Dr. John Andrus for the care he has given to Roger over the past 40 years.
