Roger Wayne Owen, age 91, of Dardanelle, passed away Wednesday, November 12, 2025, at his home surrounded by his family.
He was born May 13, 1934, in Harkey Valley, Arkansas to the late Wayne Loyd Owen and Georgia Ann Owen (Housley). Roger was a hard worker, he worked all of his life. He was a crew chief for a Boeing RB47 Bomber in the United States Air Force and had top secret clearance during the Cold War years. He loved spending time with his wife, Pat, son Michael, and his three grandchildren. He was an avid outdoorsman that thoroughly enjoyed coon hunting. He earned a degree from Arkansas Polytechnic College (ATU) in 1971 while working at Valmac overnight as a USDA Inspector. He was a businessman, owning several businesses in Dardanelle, including Dardanelle Gun and Pawn.
He was preceded in death by his parents and his brothers, Ira Lee Owen, O'Neil Earl Owen, Gail Dean Owen, James Etzel "Jim" Owen, Charles Stanley "Chuck" Owen, and Arlis Ray Owen.
Survivors include his wife of 67 Years, Ophelia "Pat" Owen; one son, Michael Wayne Owen (Cindy); three sisters, Donna Turner (Gary), Betty Cantrell, Pat Owen; grandchildren, Courtney Rae Owen-Freeman (Joey), Casey Roger Michael Owen (Cheryl), Chance George Wayne Owen; great-grandchildren, Georgia Owen-Spaght, Isabella Freeman, Glenna Freeman, Deserae Milam (Jason), Hailey Kennedy; great-great-grandchildren, Briar and Kingston Colburn, Emerie Milam and several nephews and nieces.
Visitation will be held Monday, 6 to 8 p.m. at Cornwell Funeral Chapel in Dardanelle. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Tuesday at Cornwell Funeral Chapel in Dardanelle. Burial will be in Harkey Valley Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Michael Owen, Casey Owen, Chance Owen, Joey Freeman, Jeff Long, and Glen Haney.
